Hi, I'm Angie! I am positive and energetic, and love meeting new people. I am a certified nutritionist/personal chef and love cooking to help clients stay nourished with yummy, nutritious food. I have worked in healthcare for a combination of 25 years; 1:1 direct care as well as group settings. My background is in mental health (10 yrs) and nutrition (15 yrs). I have been providing companion care for seniors for 2 yrs. I have a deep understanding and appreciation of the mind-body connection and work with my clients and their families from a compassionate care model.
When my dad was diagnosed with a rare type of Parkinson's Disease in 2000, I started my journey into nutrition and how food can nourish the body. I understand how aging and many conditions, especially neurodegenerative diseases, affect the entire family. My father was one of my best teachers.
From my early years of being a caseworker, I am comfortable in doctors appts and hospital settings and knowledgeable about many conditions from my ongoing nutrition education.
In my every day life I strive to be kind and compassionate. I am responsible, creative, and very organized. I have a deep yearning for knowledge, so I love learning and engaging. I received my 200 level yoga teacher certification in 2021, as part of my own personal growth and healing. Self-care is something that is extremely important to me and it helps me stay balanced in my work. I live in State College with my husband Brian and my kitty cat Bruce.
